What is a Bridge Page?
A bridge page is a landing page used in affiliate marketing with the purpose to send the user to the destination page via an affiliate link.
For example, if you were to see an ad about a product on a social media platform and click on the ad, you will be taken to a page on a website explaining the products, its benefits etc. etc.
And when you click “Purchase” or “Buy Now”, you will be taken to a seperate website to continue the purchase. When you purchase the item, the original website will get what’s called affiliate commission.
Google classes bridge pages as pages used to link to other sites and categorises them as have ‘insufficient original content.”
Are Bridge Pages Allowed in Google Ads?
Google has stringent policies for ad destinations. Ultimately Google wants to provide the best user experience possible for users and “insufficient original content” on a landing page is one of the reasons why an ad directing a page like this may be disapproved…And bridge pages fall into this category.
If Google decides that your bridge page doesn’t provide sufficient helpful content, your ad will be disapproved.
