About
The goal was a warm, clear website that gives every visitor, whether they need a home, live in one or want to fund one, an obvious next step.
Coast2Bay Housing Group is an independent, not-for-profit community housing provider based on the Sunshine Coast.
What began as a small local housing council in 1993 is now a Tier 1 registered provider giving more than 1,500 people across the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Moreton Bay and Gympie regions a safe, affordable place to call home. Alongside its core housing work, Coast2Bay runs the RISE2 Foundation for families escaping domestic and family violence, the Purpose Real Estate social enterprise and the Better Together Housing community for women over 55.
Our Challenge
Coast2Bay serves very different people with very different needs. Someone in crisis needs a housing pathway they can understand in seconds. An existing tenant needs maintenance and support without hunting for it. A donor needs to trust where their money goes.
A private landlord needs a commercial case for headleasing.
The existing site tried to speak to everyone at once and ended up hard to navigate, text-heavy and institutional in tone.
The other challenge was making a complex organisation feel simple. Coast2Bay has multiple housing programs, a charitable foundation, a real estate arm and a partner network, each with its own audience. The brief was to bring all of it under one clear, human-led experience without flattening what makes each program distinct, and without losing the warmth that defines how Coast2Bay actually works with people.
Our Approach
We started with the visitor, not the org chart.
Every decision came back to one question: who is this person and what do they need right now? We rebuilt the site around three front doors (I’m looking for a home, I’m a tenant, I want to donate) and gave each audience its own clear pathway. Coast2Bay’s existing brand palette was refined into a softer, more approachable visual system, with real tenant photography and stories doing the work that stock imagery and policy language used to do.
What We Delivered
AUDIENCE-LED INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
CLEAR HOUSING PATHWAYS AND ELIGIBILITY
IMPACT STORYTELLING THAT BUILDS TRUST
Instead of generic charity messaging, we made Coast2Bay’s impact tangible:
Animated counters for people housed, years of service and the 300 new homes planned by 2030
Tenant stories in their own words, front and centre on the homepage
Donation tiers that show exactly what each contribution funds through RISE2
Dedicated hubs for RISE2 Foundation, Purpose Real Estate and Better Together Housing, integrated into the main site rather than bolted on
LANDLORD AND PARTNER PATHWAY
