What is Computer-Generated Content?
Computer-generated content, or most commonly known as AI generated content, refers to the creation of text, images, videos and other asses using AI and machine learning tools. Ai-generated content is not a new concept, but, significant advancements over the last few years has made it more accessible and easy to use than ever before.
It uses various algorithms to analyse data and find patterns to try and try to mimic and recreate them in a way that is indistinguishable from human-generated content. Today, AI is used to create a vast range of content, from simple social media posts and blogs to complex news articles and even artistic pieces like art and music.
While it does offer various benefits on a small scale, it does have a number of drawbacks. Because it is designed to only mimic, it lacks the emotion and perspectives that make human created content feel real and personal.
Another issue is the risk of misinformation and bias. AI systems can inadvertently perpetuate existing biases present in their training data or generate misleading information if not carefully monitored.
It is also commonly used in auto-generated content, a black hat SEO tactic, as a way to publish large amounts of content in a short space of time. This can lead to the creation of low-quality or spammy content that is designed primarily to manipulate search engine rankings rather than provide genuine value to readers.
